Leah Rosen

2019

Leah is a senior from Denver, CO pursing a Program 2 major titled ?Illness & Identity? with minors in Chemistry and Biology. Her interdisciplinary major assesses the reciprocity between identity and illness: namely how one?s biological, social, economic, or cultural traits influence his or her vulnerability and response to illness, and conversely how the experience of disease can shape one?s sense of self. Her research with Dr. Nancy Zucker focuses on the role of identity in the onset, treatment, and recovery of eating disorders. Outside of the lab, Leah is involved with the John Hope Franklin Humanities Institute, Reimagining Medicine, Duke Global Medical Brigades, DukeHAND, and the Duke Cancer Center.
