Emory Shepherd is a first-year student from Watkinsville, Georgia, studying Psychology and Public Policy with a minor in Creative Writing. She is interested in how perfectionism shapes student well-being and academic outcomes, as well as understanding the motivating and detrimental aspects of perfectionistic traits. Outside the classroom, Emory is a competitive gymnast and an avid reader and writer. On campus, she serves as a captain of the club gymnastics team, competes on the brief-writing team for Duke Moot Court, and is an associate editor for The Archive literary magazine. She enjoys exploring storytelling, staying active, and spending time with her friends and family.
