Lori Keeling, MPH

Clinical Psychology Doctoral Student

Lori Keeling is a doctoral candidate in the clinical psychology program at Duke, working under the mentorship of Dr. Nancy Zucker. Her research interests focus on the potential role of high fat, high sugar dietary intake on memory deficits (episodic memory and food-specific memory) and the development and maintenance of binge eating disorder (BED). Clinically, Lori has expertise in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (MCBT). She specializes in treating children, adolescents, and adults with eating-related concerns and also provides interventions to help clients manage depression, anxiety, interpersonal difficulties, and emotion dysregulation. Before coming to Duke, she spent 10 years working in the field of public health education, where she helped clients learn to maintain a healthy weight and manage diabetes and heart disease. Lori completed a Master of Public Health Degree in Global Health from Emory University (2001) and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from American University (1997). Outside of school and work, she enjoys hiking, weight lifting, paddle boarding, drawing, and rehabbing furniture.
