Food Scientists: Understanding Food Avoidance in Young Children
We are no longer recruiting participants for this study, but check out the Chompions Study instead!
Some children are very selective in the foods they eat, seem to get full very easily, and/or seem like they are not interested in food. These situations can be upsetting for both parents and children. The Food Scientists study hopes to learn more about these children so that we can reduce selective eating. If you are eligible to participate in this study, you will be asked to complete phone interviews, answer questionnaires, and video your child when being presented with different foods. We will then give you suggestions of foods to try. Parent will be provided with compensation as well as feedback about their child's eating habits.
This study includes children ages 5 to 9. This study will be completed from home, so parents everywhere will be able to participate! Please email foodscientists@duke.edu if you are interested in participating.
